Salsedine Relais is a unique pearl in the heart of Genoa. Salsedine summarizes in its name a position of absolute privilege in the historic and characteristic “Borgo di Boccadasse”. It boasts a splendid terrace directly on the beach, with the symphony of the sea in the background.

Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and aperitifs will have some extra flavour, that only the taste of the sea can give.

The newly renovated apartment is equipped to make every stay unique and unforgettable.

 

The apartment

Going into the Salsedine you will find a large entrance with a reading corner, and then a bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet, hairdryer and a shower kit. Then there is the bedroom, with a double walk-in closet and a Smart Led TV and hi speed internet connection. The upper floor has three windows that directly overlook Boccadasse's beach.

Going downstairs you will immediately find two pantries containing a table and chairs for the outside, a drying rack, an iron and some cleaning supplies. Continuing, you will be in front of the living area, an open concept space with a table, a double sofa-bed, a fireplace and also a kitchen equipped with the following: dishes, toaster, little oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The French doors in the open space overlook a charming terrace on the beach. And now that you have completed the tour, you can lay back and listen to the sound of the sea, or directly dive into it.

Access for guests…

The apartment is equipped with independent heating and air conditioning. Pets are not allowed, and smoking is prohibited.

Cleaning takes place before every new arrival, following all the sanitation rules required to prevent Covid19.

Every convenience is at your disposal (3 supermarkets in around 300 meters), and in Boccadasse you will find bars and restaurants, all within easy reach.

A few steps away from Boccadasse you will be able to find two bus lines connecting our pearl to the city center (line 31 with terminus at Brignole and line 42 which leads to Piazza De Ferrari).

On foot you can reach Corso Italia promenade, the famous and panoramic Capo di Santa Chiara with its breathtaking view, and also visit all the charming and colorful creuze (narrow cobbled streets) that wind around.

A little bit of history… 

The “Borgo di Boccadasse” draws its history from the sea and its name from two main, albeit different, spoken tales: the most frequently mentioned one, connects the name Boccadasse to the shape of the small bay, which may resemble a "donkey's mouth"(bocca d'âze in Genoese dialect).

The other, probably more reliable, refers to the "Rio Asse" river, which once flowed where Via Boccadasse is currently located. After feeding the wash houses (treuggi in Genoese) and the fountain, the river flowed into the sea, at the center of the beach. Fishermen were the first inhabitants of the houses there; sailors by birth and tradition, up to a decade ago their boats filled the small cove, together with the nets hanging out to dry in the sun. Here today the fishermen still practice sport fishing, and there are many boats in the square below the church, making Boccadasse an enchanting place. In fact fish is the true protagonist of the dishes that many local restaurants serve on their tables. 

Little by little, one on the top of the other, each as different as their soft colors, the houses in Boccadasse grew in number, creating the wonder we can see today and that many may also experience.
